Allusions[]
- The title has the resemblance of the song, "Winter Wonderland". However the special barely has anything to do with Christmas.
- The plot is very similar to the 1985 film, The Goonies (which executive producer Steven Spielberg worked on). This was also parodied in the New Looney Tunes episode "The Loonies".
- The scene where Plucky's jar of snow is used to replace the box of cereal on the platform to stop the moving traps is a reference to Raiders of the Lost Ark (another film that Spielberg worked on).
- Pirate Beth is a parody of cereal mascot Cap'n Crunch. The name of her cereal, Sugar Me Timbers, is also a play on the common piratical phrase "Shiver me timbers".
- The piranhas in the water situated under the bridge that leads to the treasure strongly resemble Mr. Piranha from DreamWorks Animation's The Bad Guys.
- The episode title shares the same name as the Goof Troop episode.
Trivia[]
- This special marks the first of a few things:
- Elmer Fudd's first major appearance and speaking role in the Looniversity series, as he had only made cameos as a statue throughout the majority of the series but even then, he only played a minor part in the show and it wasn't shown what happened to him after taking the supposed treasure, in addition to appearing in costumed form in the Season 1 finale, The Show Must Hop On. He also had non-speaking roles in Tooned In Space and Twin-Con.
- Additionally, he is voiced by Eric Bauza, who had previously voiced him in the video game Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, the 2021 film Space Jam: A New Legacy, and the Bugs and Daffy's Thanksgiving Road Trip podcast (also released in 2021). This makes this special the first episodic piece of Looney Tunes media where Elmer is voiced by Eric Bauza instead of Jeff Bergman (not counting the latter piece of media).
- The first Tiny Toons Looniversity special in which Granny, Foghorn Leghorn, Wile E. Coyote, and Porky Pig appear (as the former only appeared in a promotional image for Spring Beak).
- Porky, Foghorn, and Granny's first speaking roles in Tiny Toons Looniversity since the first season episodes Extra, So Extra, Tears of a Clone, and The Show Must Hop On, respectively.
- The first winter-themed episode of the show.
- Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil are the only major faculty members at Acme Loo not to appear in this special (not counting the former's appearance as a statue).
- It is revealed that Elmer used to attend Acme Loo and took a cereal mascot class, where he pitched an idea for a potato-based cereal (made with actual potatoes) but was rejected in favor of Pirate Beth's cereal. This led him to be supposedly exiled and seek revenge on everyone at Acme Loo for his humiliation.
- It is revealed that the reboot incarnations of Granny, Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam graduated from Acme Loo in this special.
